Best Intentions: Wildfire and People in Yosemite National Park

For almost a century, America believed forest fires to be wholly evil, threatening to destroy our nation’s wild lands if not kept in check. This logic made sense – to many it still seems obvious – but by fighting what we thought was the enemy, we ended up harming the very thing we were trying to protect.
This half hour documentary, produced by Yosemite National Park, follows one of America’s premier wildfire crew’s through a season in Yosemite National Park. From firefighters working to preserve Yosemite’s wilderness we learn the stark truth about our forests and the science behind what today’s fire managers are doing to solve a problem we helped to create.
