Wilderness Areas of the Sierra Nevada


This is the heart of the SierraNevadaWild site: current information about the 28 separate designated wilderness areas in the central Sierra. These areas are managed by the Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and the National Park Service. Though all designated wilderness areas are protected by the Wilderness Act, specific regulations vary between different areas.
